NNSS Port Harcourt is the third of the  nine welfare secondary      schools owned and run by NN. The School is located at the end of Harold  Wilson Drive in Borikiri, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The school was     statutorily established in April 1994, and formally commissioned on  Tuesday 9 March 1995 by the then Chief of the Naval Staff Rear Admiral Okhai Akhigbe as a full boarding and comprehensive co-educational  secondary school. The school opened officially for classes on Sunday 13 November 1994. The pioneer set consist of 200 JSS1 students (132 boys and  68 girls) and staff strength of 68 comprising officers, ratings, teaching and   non-teaching  staff.
